Chiatura abandoned places are the most exciting part of Chiatura. There are forgotten hospitals and palaces. Most of them were built in the Soviet Union. Almost every building, stadium, culture house or memorial will set you back in the Soviets.

Your trip to Chiatura will be full of adventures and you can explore a thin line between totally ancient and Soviets.

Katskhi pillar is a 40-meter high limestone monolith. At the top of this separate cliff, a monk has been living for 20 years. It is one of the most isolated places to live on the planet according to CNN.

Chiatura cable car was installed in 1954 by the Stalin government to get the workers more quickly to the mines. That’s why Chiatura is often called “flying Venice”. Nowadays only new cable cars work but still possible to see Soviet cars as well.

Mghvimevi Monastery is caved remarkably in the rocks. That was built in the XIII century and has become more widely known as the place where the oldest ancestors have lived.
