4 day-long adventure, in the most colorful, Golden season. The trail takes you through coniferous and mixed forests, alpine and sub-alpine meadows up to 2600m high. October is when the national park is at its most spectacular with the autumn gold and red colors. Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views from mountain slopes of the lesser Caucasus. Overnight in a comfortable guesthouse right next to the national park, atmospheric mountain shelters, or authentic shepherd houses.
Another excitement that you will have on this journey is a wildlife spectacle of Caucasian Red Deer (Cervus elephus) rut. It is rutting season for stags and you will have a chance to hear roaring deers, engaged in fierce mating battles, competing for the attention of the female deers. We will spend 4 full days. On the fifth day, you can have an optional horseback riding tour and enjoy a warm sulfur bath outdoors.

We will carry our food and hiking gear on us, but as we can sleep in shelters, you can leave your tent at home and make your backpack lighter. It is an average mountainous trail with an elevation gain of 500-1.000 m by day, around 6-8 hours of trekking. The highest temperature can be up to +20 and the lowest – +5 at night.

In the beginning and at the end of the hike, you’ll have signal, but deeper into the national park, there’s no coverage. Be sure to prepare in advance and take this opportunity to connect with nature and your fellow hikers.
My trip to Georgia was a spur of the moment decision and also limited to one week. I knew I really wanted to hike and I also knew I didn’t have the time to plan, organise, and execute my ideal itinerary in the short time I had to prepare. Every company I enquired with offered suitable tours however on days that didn’t suit me, this is when I discovered Camp Caucasus. Camp Caucasus drafted a couple of itineraries that covered what I was interested in and I was able to fine tune them to suit me. I ended up on my own individualised 4 day Kazbegi Adventure tour. I absolutely LOVED my time in Kazbegi.
Camp Caucasus arranged an awesome self-guided hiking tour of the Kazbegi area for us. The info package with descriptions and routes was super helpful and clear. Support before and during the trip was simply outstanding. Very kind and genuinely interested people at Camp Caucasus. We would definitely recommend and book again.
My husband and I took two self-guided hiking tours with Camp Caucasus, one to the Svenati region and one to Kazbegi. I highly recommend Camp Caucasus, both for the value, and the reliability.
