    Program

    Day 1

    In the morning you will be picked up from Tbilisi and travel to village Juta, where you will day-hike through picturesque Juta Valley to Chaukhi Massif. You will be surrounded by flowering meadows, rushing rivers, grazing cows, horses and spectacular Chaukhi massif with its seven sharp peaks. After the hike, the driver will take you to the guesthouse in Stepantsminda.

     

    Transfer: 3 hr. Distance: 15 km. Duration: 6 hr. Overnight in Stepantsminda.

    Day 2

    Today morning you will walk to the beautifully situated Gergeti Trinity Church built in the 14th century at an elevation of 2200 m. It will be a short hike but demanding hike with absolutely gorgeous views. Upon wish you can continue further to see the church from above with the background to Stepantsminda.

     

    Distance: 7,5 km. Duration: 3-4 hr. Overnight in Stepantsminda.

    Day 3

    After breakfast, you will be transferred to Truso Valley. You will be walking in an almost abandoned valley in the direction of the South Ossetia borders. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, you will also see orange, white and red travertine formations from mineral springs. Visit beautiful blue Abano lake and explore the ruins of Zakagori fortress. At the end of hike you will transfer back to Tbilisi.
