    FAQ

Are the trails suitable for beginners?

While some of the days are beginner-friendly, 3-day Black Rocks Lake trekking requires a good level of fitness, as you should be prepared to walk 8 hours per day with big altitude changes. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us. We’ll provide detailed information about trail difficulty and, if this itinerary isn’t a good fit, we’ll recommend the best options based on your experience and preference.

Is there mobile network coverage or Wi-Fi during the tour?

In the guesthouse, yes, and on parts of the trails, you’ll have coverage. However, during the 3-day Black Rocks Lake trek, there’s almost no signal. Be sure to prepare in advance and embrace this opportunity to connect with nature and your fellow hikers.

What should I pack for the trip?

We recommend packing light while ensuring you bring essential items such as sturdy hiking shoes, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and a daypack to carry everything. Also sleeping bag and mat for 3-day trek, but this and heavy stuff will be carried by horse. After booking your tour, you’ll receive a detailed packing list along with other important trip preparation details to help you get ready.

    How challenging is this tour?

These hikes are great for those with an active lifestyle who are comfortable with longer walking days. Expect some steeper sections and varied terrain, including rocky paths, but nothing technical. These routes offer a mix of adventure and breathtaking scenery, making the effort well worth it.

Who it’s for: Adventurers who enjoy a day of hiking and are ready for some elevation changes.

Activity Level: Walking averages 5-8 hours per day, covering up to 20 km, with elevation gain/loss between 600–1000 meters.

Minimum Age: 16 years old (suitable for teens with prior hiking experience or strong endurance).

    Customer Review

    • My trip to Georgia was a spur of the moment decision and also limited to one week. I knew I really wanted to hike and I also knew I didn’t have the time to plan, organise, and execute my ideal itinerary in the short time I had to prepare. Every company I enquired with offered suitable tours however on days that didn’t suit me, this is when I discovered Camp Caucasus. Camp Caucasus drafted a couple of itineraries that covered what I was interested in and I was able to fine tune them to suit me. I ended up on my own individualised 4 day Kazbegi Adventure tour. I absolutely LOVED my time in Kazbegi.

    • My husband and I took two self-guided hiking tours with Camp Caucasus, one to the Svenati region and one to Kazbegi. I highly recommend Camp Caucasus, both for the value, and the reliability.
